The 2013 Cannes Film Festival is in full swing, kicking off with the premiere of 'The Great Gatsby'. The red carpet is rolled out and Carey Mulligan, Leonardo DiCaprio and the rest of the A-list cast have posed for their first appearance in front of the sparkling Riviera water for photocall and hit the red carpet for the swanky premiere.
Audrey Tautou started her role as mistress of ceremonies by attending a photocall in a yellow RedValentino pretty floral tea dress. If you think you've seen this pretty little number before, it's the same frock that Alexa Chung wore to the Grammys back in February, remember? It's a good very start for the French darling, so we're predicting some flawless red carpet appearances and more than a few Chanel numbers.
The Great Gatsby premiere
The party kicked off with the premiere of the Great Gatsby, where Carey Mulligan, Cara Delevingne, Leo DiCaprio, Isla Fisher and more walked down a soggy red carpet, sheltered by umbrellas. Carey didn't go back to black, as she opted for a pale pink Dior couture gown with a bold red lip. Cara Delevingne went all out Hollywood glam in a black Burberry lace gown, sprinkled with Chopard diamonds and a scarlet pout. Frieda Pinto wore a Gucci pink floor sweeper, Isla Fisher wore a red ruffled Oscar de la Renta and Nicole Kidman wore a strapless embroidered floral Christian Dior couture frock.
The Great Gatsby photocall
Ms Mulligan, who seems to be allergic to embellishment, frothy frocks and colour, continued her minimal-chic streak at the Great Gatsby photocall, in a strapless black Balenciaga jumpsuit with delicate beading and a simple bow on top of the circular bodice. While Isla Fisher looked oh so pretty in a white lace simple shift dress, with killer red lippy.
The Bling Ring premiere
Emma Watson looked the epitome of elegance at the Bling Ring premiere, adorning her black and white Chanel dress with three earcuffs. 10 points for Griffindor.
Inside LLweyn Davis
Jessica Biel managed to upstage her hubby Justin Timberlake at the premiere of Inside Llewyn Davis, wearing a showstopping Marchesa gown. Carey Mulligan made her millionth red carpet appearance and still looked amazing, spicing up her demure black and white Vionnet dress with a towering pair of Brian Atwood ‘Aida’ sandals.
