What was your most unreasonable wedding experience as a guest?

Best man making a speech at a wedding reception
We've known it for a while now: the cost of the average wedding is skyrocketing. The Guardian's US money columnist Helaine Olen reported today that the average bride and groom can expect to spend an incredible $28,427 on their nuptials in 2013, up 5% from 2012.
But it's not just brides and grooms who are shelling out big bucks on their nuptials. Guests have become collateral damage in the fight for the ultimate fairy-tale wedding – spending large amounts on everything from budget-busting gifts from the couple's registry to travel to exotic destinations. Olen explains:
According to a survey by American Express, those attending a wedding can expect to spend $539 this year. That's up an astonishing 58% in a one-year period. In some parts of the country, it's most of a rent payment.
And that's just the monetary cost. Couples have asked their guests to participate in some pretty bizarre preparations, like the lovebirds who asked their guests to go on a vegan cleanse for three weeks leading up to the nuptials.
Victims of the Wedding Industrial Complex unite! Now's your chance to air your grievances. We want to hear about how these uber-weddings have cost you, both mentally and monetarily. Just fill out our short survey below, and be sure to include as many juicy details as possible. Don't worry, we will only publish your first name to preserve your anonymity (and your friendships with the happy couples).

Maria Menounos gushes about her Mykonos vacation while cosying up to her boyfriend of 15 years

She celebrated her 35th birthday on June 8, and the good times haven't slowed down for Maria Menounos.

The Extra host has been gallivanting around Mykonos, Greece, with her family, friends and boyfriend Keven Undergaro over the past weekend.

On Tuesday night, the television presenter continued her luxurious vacation with a spot of shopping for hats and a romantic stroll with her boyfriend.

The bronzed and the beautiful: Maria Menounos enjoyed a Tuesday evening out in Mykonos with her boyfriend of 15 years, Keven Undergaro

The bronzed and the beautiful: Maria Menounos enjoyed a Tuesday evening out in Mykonos with her boyfriend of 15 years, Keven Undergaro

With her caramel brown locks parted in the centre and freely flowing past her shoulders, Maria had the effervescence and glow of someone who's greatly enjoying her time away from the states.

The EveryGirl's Guide To Life author wrapped one of her arms around her beau of 15 years as they strolled around together.

She wore a black strapless summery frock that cinched at the waist and had a cut-out pattern at the hem.

Decorated T-strap sandals carried her throughout the stoney streets of the Grecian village, and a simple black cardigan kept her shoulders warm.

Her long-term boyfriend kept it casual in a grey zip-up hoodie over a black V-neck T-shirt and a pair of khaki trousers.

The television star shared an intimate picture of her trip via Twitter.

In the image, she and her boyfriend are looking out over the ocean and holding hands.

She simply captioned it: 'So happy here...'

Maria credits her partner for her successful career, as she told Moviefone last month.

'He's a genius for knowing someone has "it" before they even know they have it,' she said.

'Like with me, I was just a chubby college student who had dreams but didn't know how it would all come together and he put me on the right path and shepherded my career all these years.'

Regarding her relationship, Maris said during a March 28 appearance on Live With Kelly & Michael: 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Maybe when it's time to grow up and have kids…'

Accompanying the couple on Tuesday night was friend and model Marietta Chrousala and husband Leon Patitsas.

Monique Lhuillier

Monique Lhuillier Resort 2014
Frock star Monique Lhuillier has plenty of pretty options for all of your party attire needs in her latest Resort roster of looks. In a palette that ranged from B&W to bright aqua and fuchsia, there were plenty of cocktail dresses in punchy prints, lush lace, and chic capes. The aqua pieces were particularly striking, in looks like a skinny pencil dress with sheer lace from the neck to the top of the bust, which was worn underneath a matching tiered matching cape. Other capes made cameos, like the sheer lace overlay that spiced up a black deep-v cocktail dress, or a floor-length lace iteration, worn over a black jumpsuit of the same lacy persuasion.

Lace appeared throughout the collection in an off-the-shoulder baby blue body-con dress, or on the sheer sleeves of some B&W wildly printed tops that reminded us of those old Magic Eye books. Perhaps if you cross your eyes and look close enough, a hidden picture will appear? Other cool prints popped up on pieces like a ruched strapless evening gown, complete with a sexy slit. Also on the menu: a demure yet eye-catching dress coat worn over a black pencil dress. If you're after the undivided attention of the crowd at your next glitzy affair, this collection has some haute head turners to consider.

Best Dressed At The CFDA Awards 2013: The Best Dresses Live From The Red Carpet

CFDA awards 2013
The CFDA Awards are taking place in New York tonight and we're bringing you all the looks as the stars and designers hit the red carpet at Lincoln Center.
Lined up to dish out a gong tonight are Hilary Clinton, presenting the Founder's Award in Honor of Eleanor Lambert to Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, who will present the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award to Vera Wang and actress Jessica Chastain, fresh from her appearance at Sound for Change, who has been asked to bestow the International Award to Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci. Supermodel Linda Evangelista (The Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard to Tim Blanks) and actress Kerry Washington (Womenswear Designer of the Year) are also confirmed as presenters alongside Ethan Hawke (Board of Directors Tribute to Colleen Atwood), Dan Stevens (Menswear Designer of the Year) and Rose Byrne (Accessories Designer of the Year). We think we're most excited to see Romeo and Juliet co-stars Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth walk the red carpet to present the Swarovski Award for Womenswear.
It wasn't a huge surprise to see flame haired Jessica Chastain on the arm of Ricardo Tisci in a custom Givenchy creation. The actress, who is presenting Tisci with his award at the ceremony styled the black, strapless, knee-length frock very simply with a pair of Givenchy black sandals and a sleek, swept back up-do.
Meanwhile Rooney Mara wore Calvin Klein as she hit the red carpet with the brand's creative director Francisco Costa. Other designer and muse pairings included Zac Posen and Juliette Lewis, Prabal Gurung and Candice Swanepoel and Alexander Wang and Erin Wasson. Lucky Michael Kors got the chance to escort two lovely ladies down the red carpet, model Karolina Kurkova and actress Cody Horn. Naturally the trio made a very glamorous entrance.
